Urban Planning /Real Estate Development Lab

Healing, Leadership, and Legacy

The Medical Lab is HBCU West’s pre-health exploration track, designed to expose students to careers in medicine, public health, and biomedical innovation. From scrubs to strategy, this track connects aspiring healthcare leaders to mentorship, training, and pathways that heal both communities and generational poverty.

Participants will explore:

  • Medical career pathways: pre-med, nursing, public health, biotech, and allied health

  • Hands-on labs and clinical site visits

  • Mentorship from health professionals and medical students

  • College prep for health programs, including MCAT and medical school guidance

  • Workshops on health equity, research, and culturally responsive care

Whether students dream of becoming doctors, researchers, or community health leaders, the Medical Lab provides a launchpad to build careers in care—and create legacies of wellness and wealth.

Urban Futures Lab

Design the City. Develop the Legacy.

The Urban Futures Lab is HBCU West’s planning and development track, created to introduce students to the worlds of urban planning, architecture, policy, and real estate development. This lab gives participants the tools to reimagine their neighborhoods—not as outsiders, but as the next generation of planners, developers, and decision-makers.

Through hands-on experiences, students will explore:

  • Urban planning fundamentals: land use, zoning, housing policy, and transportation

  • Real estate development: from site planning and project finance to community engagement

  • GIS mapping, design software, and 3D modeling tools

  • Mentorship from architects, planners, city officials, and developers

  • Tours of planning departments, construction sites, and redevelopment projects

  • Pathways to careers in government, infrastructure, and property ownership

More than just a career track, this lab gives students the power to influence what gets built, where it gets built, and who benefits.

We don’t just teach planning—we develop power.

Fashion/ Film Culture Lab

AI Innovation Lab

Where Code Meets Culture, and Power Becomes Programmable

The AI Innovation Lab is HBCU West’s tech and strategy track—training students to lead at the intersection of artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and cultural intelligence. This lab is the heartbeat of our PLAI philosophy (The Blueprint for AI, Wealth & Culture), equipping underrepresented youth with the tools to not only use AI—but to shape its future.

Students will gain hands-on experience in:

  • Machine learning, automation, and prompt engineering

  • AI ethics, bias, and inclusive tech design

  • Startup development using AI tools for business, fashion, media, and finance

  • Tech stack strategy, including product design and MVP building

  • Mentorship from engineers, investors, and tech founders

  • Capstone projects and pitch opportunities to industry insiders

This lab prepares the next generation of innovators to do more than participate—they’re trained to own equity, build platforms, and influence how AI is deployed globally.

Because AI isn’t just about algorithms—it’s about who’s in control.
